Mindy Ward Addresses UMKC School of Law & Iowa Trust Association Fall Conference

October 22nd, 2010

By: Bob Beachy

Recently, Mindy Ward was asked to speak at UMKC School of Law regarding practical tips for lawyers. She also spoke on the Top Ten Things to Know about Trust and Estates.

In addition to speaking at UMKC, Ms. Ward was also asked to be a part of the Iowa Trust Association Fall Conference which was held October 7-8, 2010. The conference’s main purpose was to gain knowledge in the trust profession. Due to changing regulations, an unsure economy and the increasing need to stay current, Ms. Ward’s focus was about ethical dilemmas created by the use of wireless communications, cell phones and Meta data. She defined the reasonable expectations of confidentiality in light of ease of intercepting wireless conversations and what the courts say regarding privilege and wireless communications and inadverted disclosures. Ms. Ward has also been asked to be a co-Chair for  the Heart of America Tax Institute, which is designed to meet continuing education requirements for attorneys, accountants and other professionals.
