Tom Willy counsels organizations with special concerns, such as nonprofit tax issues, intellectual property and international matters, internal and external relationships. He brings a business lawyer's background and over 30 years experience to the mix when he helps a client with current challenges and in adding value to the client's enterprise. Clients often comment on Tom's responsiveness and the skills he brings to bear on a question. Intelligence, imagination and experience blend in his response to client needs and the contribution he makes in addressing those needs.
Tom was Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review and graduated first in his class from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1974. He is recognized in Who's Who in American Law. He is a member of the Business Law, Real Property and Intellectual Property Law sections, and Cyberspace Law and Nonprofit Corporations committees, of the American Bar Association, and he has been a speaker and author in the area of charitable organization law. His practice emphasizes the issues facing businesses and charitable organizations, including tax matters, charitable solicitation issues, real estate, contracts, trademarks, and purchase and sale of assets opportunities.
