


Christina Newland joined Van Osdol & Magruder, PC in August 2004, bringing a background in real estate, contract and taxation. Prior to joining Van Osdol & Magruder, PC, she worked for a Fortune 500 Company where she specialized in complex landlord, real estate and contract negotiations, including preparation of Tower Construction, Master Lease, Relocation, Pilot and many other sophisticated real estate and construction agreements. Christina focuses her practice in the areas of: real estate law were she represents developers, landowners, lenders and property managers in a wide range of real estate matters; tax planning for individuals, estates, trusts, partnerships, corporations and other entities, as well as the resolution of audits, appeals and litigation with the IRS and state taxing authorities; business law which covers a wide range of legal services from formation of corporations and other legal entities to the merger, sale and acquisition of businesses, contract law were she negotiates and drafts all types of contracts, including buy/sell, joint venture, construction, real estate, loan, and license agreements; and probate law.
Christina is a Member of the KCMBA, the ABA and the KBA. Christina is licensed in Virginia, Missouri and Kansas. Christina graduated magna cum laude from North Adams State College with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology. Christina interned for the Connecticut Judicial System while attending Western New England College School of Law where she graduated with a Juris Doctorate in 1999. She continued her legal education with a Master’s of Law in Taxation from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2003. Christina completed the Bar Leadership Academy sponsored by the six local bar associations and hosted by the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association in 2005.
